Fantastic piece of folk pottery by CLETE MEADERS. Unfortunately I don't know exactly what this piece would be called. It has a candle-cup top that would hold a candle. The base is completely open and it has a small vent indention at the rear base. The mouth is open to the inside of the piece and if you set the piece over a candle the mouth glows from the light of the candle. Piece is tall, measuring 11 1/2" and is 5 1/2" wide at the base. Clete Meaders, to me, is probably the best of the current folk potters when it comes to facial expressions and facial detail. Piece is signed on the back, "CLETE MEADERS 98". Very nice, even, brown-olive frog-skin type glaze. No damage(No nicks, chips, glaze skips or firing cracks). Clete Meaders' pieces are always one-of-a-kind and this one is no exception. Buyer pays shipping. We accept checks or paypal. NO INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS
