This unusual guy is not your typical Unicorn. He is my second attempt at doing a Kirin, and I have to admit, I went a little crazy. He is 99% covered with new material. I started with a blue Ribbon traditional size model horse, and started adding textures, he has a new gold horn going back over his head, large ears, his mussel is now more of a carp or catfish mouth, with tentacle whiskers of a fish. On his chest and going under his belly, I have added a spikey fin. His body is covered with scales, and his back has a saddle shaped fin. I have added a new tail, which fans out into more of a fish tail. He has pointed front kneecaps, and feathers on his legs, and cloven golden hooves. I have added male parts, so he is now a stallion. For his color, I started with a black base, then added mettalic colors in copper, green, gold and blue shades. He looks like a metal statue. he has green tri eyes. which are glossed, and he has been sprayed with a matte finish. I took photos inside and out, and the truest color are the ones inside, he is more on the copper tones then the blues that it shows outside. I have signed and dated his tail. His size is 10 1/2" X 13".The Japanese unicorn, Kirin, is an animal-god who punishes the wicked with its single horn. It protects the just and grants them good luck. Seeing a kirin is considered an omen of extreme good luck - if one is a virtuous person. Kirin are gentle creatures and appreciate all life. Their origins are in China and Japan, and they can be horselike, but differ in body type with scales on the body, like a fish. This would make a great new addition to any unicorn or fantasy collection. Thanks for looking, and please check out my ebay store for more original horse artwork.,
