Offered for your consideration is a near perfect 8 Inch wide American Sweetheart Cobalt Blue luncheon plate, also known as a salad plate. American Sweetheart is one of the best known and most popular Depression Glass patterns made by the MacBeth-Evans Glass Company. This has no chips, dings, fleabites or flakes, it's not cloudy or dull. Typical of all depression glass you can probably find a mold mark or straw mark somew with a magnifying glass, that being said I could not find any obvious flaws after very close inspection. This lovely American Sweetheart plate in the very rare cobalt blue has a lovely clear jewel color. I have included a number of photos taken with various backgrounds and lighting conditions, the purplish coloring that appears in certain photos is an artifact, this is a true cobalt blue, the last two photos are of the back of the plate. Please note that I will be selling several more of these plates, as all are in same outstanding condition I will be using the same set of photos for all of them. MacBeth Evans only made American Sweetheart from 1930-36 until the company was bought by Corning.
