Aynsley Tea Cup and saucer set. Deep Cobalt Blue , Gold Gilded rim, foot and handle. Saucer is scalloped, with the 1934-1939 Aynsley back stamp 5-3/4" round. Cup is footed, with scalloped rim, cobalt blue with gold gilded rim and handle, hand painted floral design inside the cup with a large beautiful butterfly. The bottom of the cup appears to be numbered either 1666 or 1688 cant read it that well, there is also a makers initial but I cannot make that out either. After lengthy research I found similar patters named Athens, in orange, green and gold colors with the same floral and butterfly patterns, referenced on Pinterest. I do not see any signatures. The handle has been broke and then repaired at one time or another, but not by us. There are no other chips scratches or damages to the saucer or cup. Even with the handle issue, which is not bad at all, this is a beautiful item and would display nicely. We will look at any offer, however, if we accept a lower offer from you, we will have to add in the shipping, which runs about 9-12 bucks for one of these sets. Shipping is free within the USA, calculated for international buyers, Shipping international could cost upwards to 45 bucks or so. So be fair and reasonable with your offers.
