~ EMPIRE VASE - 9 1/2 pounds! ~ I have been dealing in crystal for quite a few years and have seen many beautiful pieces, but this empire vase is a show-stopper! Up for auction is a stunning cut-to-clear footed vase in a rich and deep COBALT BLUE . Cut into the mouth blown piece are elongated cameo panels and spears. The molded base is cut with a large star. The crystal on the upper edge is over 1/4 inch thick. This especially heavy full lead (24% PbO) cased crystal urn is a vintage piece produced by DorotheenhÃ¼tte GmbH , Wolfach, Baden-Wuerttemburg for Barthmann Cristall. It is in excellent condition. T are no nicks, dings, chips, scratches nor repairs. Very light scuffing can be seen on the four corners of the base and a small air bubble is trapped t as well. The latter can been seen at 10 o'clock in the fourth photo.
