Up for auction is a vintage cobalt blue Fiesta ware bowl. I'm not an expert on Fiesta, so I will describe it to the best of my ability. I bought it at an antique shop in Colorado Springs almost 30 years ago because I liked the look of it. In the 30 years I've had it, it has been used seldom, and never put in the dishwasher. I can't say what kind of a life it led before I had it! The bowl is 5-1/2" tall and 7-3/4" across the top. The bottom is heavily glazed, but you can read "Fiesta USA " and the number "4", which I assume is its size. T are rings on the inside bottom of the bowl and also on the inside about 1" from the rim - please see photo. The blue is not as dark nor as shiny as the present-day cobalt blue Fiesta that I have seen. I have inspected it very carefully: t are no chips or "flea bites" or cracks or crazing, except that on the very bottom, w it would rest on a shelf (the "foot"), t is a small line of white showing, about 3-1/2" long, and t are two tiny chips on the bottom w the Fiesta logo is. The line w the white shows through on the bottom is smooth, not rough at all. When I hold the interior up to a good light, I can see some faint scratches on the bottom, w a spoon may have scratched it, but it is smooth, not incised at all.
