Double your traffic. This is a 'knock your socks off' Geisha Girl or Japanese Village Dish. This one made as a fish plate measures just a shade under 14 1/2" end to end and 7 1/2" side to side. The fish surface is 9" end to end with gently sloping or tapering ends to the handles. Just below the cutwork handles are two rust colored hearts with extraorinary gold decoration. The outer edge is scalloped and bordered in a deep cobalt blue with an outer edge of deep reddish brown. Included in the wide banded border are plaques of rust and green with gold decoration. There is lavish use of gold throughout the dish. There are 5 Japanese people in kimonos of rust, green and blue. Highly decorated with an entire village represented in the background. The dish is absolutely stunning! It is decorated on the reverse and artist marked (see photo number 5). It is in very fine condition. Obviously never used. Only one of this type I have ever seen (been collecting and selling for 40 years). Additional photographs available upon request if the 12 above are insufficient.
