AUTHENTIC COCHITI DRUM & ACOMA PUEBLO POTTERY BOWL

Signed Joe Duran, San Juan Pueblo, NM & K. Joe, Acoma, NM

Up for bid is a combination of Native American treasures! First we have a beautiful drum that was hand made by Joe Duran of San Juan Pueblo, NM and is an AUTHENTIC Cochiti style drum. Mr. Duran was taught by his father-in-law, Marcus Chalan of Cochiti Pueblo. The body of the drum is made of Aspen and the heads and “lacing” of the drum are cowhide. Mr. Duran has showcased his drums at many Native American art shows, most notably the Eight Northern Indian Market in New Mexico and has received “Best in Show” at the internationally acclaimed Santa Fe Indian Market and has received MANY other awards.

To complement this beautiful drum, we have added a beautiful ceramic Acoma Pueblo pottery bowl made by Keith Joe of Acoma, NM. This polychrome bowl showcases traditional and fine line designs in a BOLD polychrome and terracotta finish. While this piece is not actually signed by K. Joe, it does feature is signature cloud and rain design. The bowl is 4” tall and 5 ½€ wide and measures 4” at the mouth of the pot.
