This auction is for an old Alabama law book. The cover has the official state seal (or at least that of the time) and this book was printed in 1907! The cover and spine are in poor condition although all of the pages are still together after over 100 years. There are over 1100 pages in this book and it covers all sorts of laws and penalties for breaking laws. I bought this in a little flea market near Mobile, AL in 2003. I have always thought it was pretty interesting but it is time to pass it on. I really don't know how else to describe this book. The first page reads: "The Code of Alabama. Adopted by act of the legislature of Alabama; Approved July 27, 1907, Entitled 'An Act To Adopt A Code of Laws For the State of Alabama'." It was prepared by James J. Mayfield who was the Code Commissioner. It was published in Nashville, Tenn by the Marshall & Bruce Company, Printers and Binders. 1907. The following page reads: "Entered according to Act of Congress, in the year 1907, by B. B. Comer, as Governor of the State of Alabama, for the use of said State, Ine the office of the Librarian of Congress, at Washington, D.C. Please see pictures for additional details.
