EASTERN AIRLINES FLIGHT 401 COFFEE POT This auction is for a coffee pot found among the remains / wreckage of Eastern Airlines flight 401. The coffee pot measures 5 3/4 inches tall and 5 1/2 inches in diameter (not including the handle). This coffee pot is as it was found. It has a 1 inch round dent on the side left of the handle. It still has some coffee grounds inside the pot. T is some labeling tape under the small dent which reads, "From Eastern Airlines L-1011, Crashed Dec. 29, 1972, Florida Everglades". Included with this coffee pot is a detailed scrapbook of newspaper artices and photos taken at the scene. The gentleman from whom this coffee pot was acquired assisted in the recovery of bodies and search for survivors and took the photographs (19) in the scrapbook. This was the second worst crash in US history as of that time. As bad as this crash was, t were 77 survivors of the 176 passengers and crew aboard. This is truly a unique, historical collectable.
