This auction is for a early 10 cent coin operated Telescope that was made by Export Sales Corp in Dallas Texas. This Telescope is all original with its original cast metal stand base. This Telescope was bought from the original owner and also includes a history sheet from the owner that tell about the history of this item. This telescope was once located on the viewing deck of the Space Needle in the 1963 Seattle Worlds Fair. It cost 10 cent to look at the views from the top of the Space Needle in 1963 located next to the telescope was a revolving restaurant. When they changed the telescopes out in the early 1970's to 25 cent coin operated telescopes they gave the old 10 cent operated machines to a few of the employees. Her husband worked for Penegram Corp that bought the Space Needle and received this telescope from them. It has been with the same estate all the way up to 2007. A great early historical coin operated piece. The dimensions of this item are 59in. height, 18in. Dia base for the machine. 22in. length telescope body. The lens eye viewer reads 15x60 and it is on free play right now so you do not have to put money inside of it to operate the machine or you can change it back to be coin operated.
