Antique Coin Silver Julep Cup E. Jaccard & Co. St. Louis 1840
Antiques:Silver, Sterling:Coin Silver:Julep Cup Being offered at NO RESERVE! Just as SUPERB and HISTORIC piece of St. Louis Silver. Some call it "Confederate" but t is debate about whether silver made in Missouri is Confederate or not. Although I live in Texas I am still a Yankee so I will reserve judgement. This lovely hand raised coin silver julep cup is classical and elegant. Of tapering cylindrical form, it features an applied drawn molded beaded band at the lip and foot. Have a look at the dozen photos and you can see how exquisite this piece is. Email any questions and bid with confidence. Light Monogram: " B. C. A. M. A. " in wonderful old script . Marked as shown: "E. Jaccard & Co." "COIN" Size: 4" tall. 3 1/8"diameter mouth 2 5/8" diameter base Weight: 168 grams 5.9 oz. Condition: EXCELLENT! Minor imperfections shown - two small indents. I had to hold them in the light just right to be able to photo them. This makes them LOOK worse than they are but I wanted to be thorough. I have not thoroughly cleaned the silver. I just went over it lightly with a silver cloth. Still, it shined up so nicely that it was difficult to photo! T is no "sick silver" or black marks that will not come off.This piece is being offered this week on EBay as part of our store wide clearance!
