This is an original coin or token promoting General George B. McClellan for president in the 1864 campaign during the Civil War when he ran against Abraham Lincoln. It is brass and measures about 15/16 of an inch in diameter. On one side is shows a bust of McClellan with his name at the edge- George B. McClellan. T is a hole punched through at the bottom which may have been added by the owner. On back is has the American eagle with the wording around the edges- The Union Must and Shall be Preserved. The coin appears to have been gilded with much worn off. It has knurling around the outside edge.
