. Camillus Cold Steel Tanto Katana Knife For the Discerning Collector IMPORTANT: DUE TO TRAVEL, THIS ITEM WILL SHIP ON OCTOBER 21. Tactical Edge Solutions recently acquired some fine blade blanks from the Camillus factory in New York due to its closure last year. These blade blanks are not normally available to the public, as they were intended to be finished in the factory. However, now that Camillus has closed, discerning craftsmen have the unusual opportunity to obtain first-rate, American-made blade blanks and customize them into unique, collectible knives of the highest calibre. Needless to say, these knives will be available only for a short time, since t are no more being made. We are selling stock that happened to be in the factory when the doors were closed; when they're gone, they're gone for good. This item is a Cold Steel Oyabun Knife, which was made in the Camillus factory. It is ground to a tanto profile, coated in black, and sharpened on one edge. It may require additional honing but the grind is clean and straight. It is 14" overall with a blade length of 8.5". The handle is Kraton (basically hard rubber) with lanyard hole. The tang stamp has been ground off without compromising the integrity of the blade. On some of these we have in stock, it is possible to read the following remnants of the tang stamp: "Cold Steel Made in USA Tanto Oyabun". It was made back when Cold Steel used USA-made Carbon V steel. A nylon sheath is included. It has a plastic liner, belt loop, and velcro closure.
