COLD STEEL KNIVES Peace Keeper II discontinued model with black coated blade. The blade is Carbon V that you can bone up on by clicking on the OSS I also listed today , I am tired of typing. A nasty little bit of hardware with double sharpened edges and spear point. The Carbon V is good steel and was used on many early Cold Steel knives including the Trail Master which I purchased new 10 or more ions ago with stag handle for $100.00. Try and find a used one now for under $300.00. That big bowie edge would shave the whiskers off a gnat, same stuff , just black coated, with what I cannot tell you. hiker1951 and aad have been kind enough to mail me to correct some of my knife facts and copy, so if you know what this old Peace Keeper is coated with give me a hollar if you are so inlined. I do know this, the black finish may be baked on but it does not look like or as resistant as teflon or anodizing and is slightly textured, but it has no blemishes and is mint. The factory edges are just that, factory, never carried, used, or sharpened as the photographs substantiate, However t are three very minute oxidation stains on the edge from sheath storage. remember Carbon V requires a modicum of maintenance but it does require a drop of oil now and then. I have stored it for about 18 months in a drawer and that is all the problem I had. Two read more
