Vintage 1919 Liberty Bell Metal Locking Bank with original skeleton key. This is a collector's item made of pot metal???? but seems light to be pot metal. It does show some wear but this is a pretty old item. It has a lot of patina and does not shine like it is brass. The original key is a skeleton key that fits in the bottom of the bell perfectly, turns 160 degrees and the entire bottom comes off! The front of the bell has a brass plaque that reads, "Ring It Again, First National Bank, Edmond, Okla." The bottom of the bank has some markings that read, "Pat. Feb. 18, 1919, Manf. by The BANKERS S & C SYSTEM, C?, CLEVELAND, O, U.S.A." The over all condition of the bell is good, lots of aging, no rust, no cracks, no dents on the bell (has a little wear on the bottom), a very old piece of wood that is secured to the top of the bell, and original skeleton key that works in the lock and opens the bank. MEASURES over 4" tall x 7" around (middle) x >3.5" wide at the bottom of the bell. IF YOU COLLECT BANKS, THIS IS A MUST HAVE! Please excuse the pictures, they look rather grainy and do not do the piece justice.
