Offered is a very unusual collection of Palaeozoic echinoderms from the famous Upper Ordovician; Ashgill Series, 'Starfish Beds' near Girvan, Ayrshire.................a site now protected. At top is a carpoid (?) with an arm and considerable detail within the main body chamber; this is only partly prepared and may reveal more of the anatomy with careful preparation. A second, unidentified and multisegmented organism occurs on the same matrix. At centre left is a small (1cm) crinoid crown with delicate arms and pinnules intact and beneath this is a complete starfish; Tretaster wyville-thompsoni. Finally at lower right is a near complete Cuthernocystis sp. with good detail of the peripheral plates and the stem. Fascinating and rare items...................no reserve!
