The stein is hand cast from finest stoneware. Every aspect of this stein portrays originality. The body is uniquely sculpted with 3 swelled subject panels and a double pedestal base. At the top of the stein a relief ribbon wraps several times around the entire circumference. This ribbon spirals, overlaps and is decorated with over 100 numbers, displaying sequences of your-dates during the past 200 year history. Below this ribbon is a meticulously hand painted raised relief map of the Western Hemisp . The map displays 4 continents, major water bodies, and accurate latitude and longitude lines. The right side of the map features the most recent year dates in ascending order, each date larger that the previous one. The year 1999 is hand painted and fired in silver-leaf. The year 2000 is the dominant element on the front of this stein. Each of the 4 numbers are separately sculpted in exaggerated relief, then hand painted and fired with gold-leaf. A beautifully designed double pedestal base completes the front decoration of the stein. Below the year 2000 is a separately cast pewter ribbon with incised "millennium" text. But it is the side panels of the stein that provide a truly novel attraction and historical significance. The past 100 year dates are each individually listed in crimson red highlights.
