For the western americana enthusiast or saddle collector !!

Offered for auction is a circa 1900 Gopher Brand (maker marked) antique, vintage highbacked western saddle. Absolutely mint . Saddle was recently redone by an expert in collectible saddles. Stirrup leathers have been converted to blevins buckels, rawhide has been replaced on cantle, braided horn and pommel. Original fleece has been replaced with new genuine fleece and sewed through original needle holes ...so no new stitching holes were created . Strings have all been replaced as well as about half of the rosettes. The leather has been thouroughly cleaned and treated. The leather is in pristine condition and the tooling is beautiful and unique . The gentleman who redid the saddle believes it to be a circa 1890-1920. He does not believe it to be newer that 1920. Anyone interested can contact me for his phone number for more of his knowledge about the saddle. The maker mark is Gopher Brand (sorry I just couldn't get a clear picture of it) which was made by D.F.B. Dodson, Fisher, Brockman. Dodson and Fisher were partners in Minneapolis, MN in 1886. Some time between 1886 and 1900 they moved to Fairbault, MN and Brockman became a partner. Their business continued until ca 1950's according to the publication "The Saddle Makers". I rode in this saddle before I had it redone and it is unbelievably comfortable, solid and secure. It has not been on a horse's back since it was redone. No cinches, latigos or stirrups are included. I regret I have to part with this amazing saddle but I have bills to pay. The saddle is sold as is...I have attempted to represent it to the best of my knowledge. I sincerely hope whoever wins the auction will be as awed with this saddle as I am!
