Offered here for sale is a wonderful, pristine Colonial Williamsburg Reproduction Mahogany and curved Glass Wall Sconce with Mirror. An example of this item was recently sold here on eBay for $1250 as “Buy it Now” without the addition of a candlestick! This totally authentic reproduction of an eighteenth-century English antique features a solid, dark mahogany casing that is cut, assembled, and finished-by-hand to duplicate the cabinetwork of the original which is displayed in the Peyton Randolph House in Colonial Williamsburg. The protective rare, curved glass front section slides up for easy access to a candlestick. Also included with this sconce is a solid brass baluster shaped type Baldwin candlestick. Baldwin Brass is the maker of finely crafted brass objects. The Height of the wall sconce with mirror is 18”; width 13 3/8”, depth 6 ½”. This item was listed as AP 130 in the 1976 Colonial Williamsburg Reproductions Catalog, page 141 This item is in excellent condition with no flaws noted. This lovely lighting device has been displayed on our bedroom wall since the 1970’s—only to have been removed once for painting and promptly returned! It was made by the now defunct Virginia Metalcrafters of Winchester , VA and is marked on the bottom with the Colonial Williamsburg trademark.
