Colonial Williamsburg Restoration CW-10 18" Hurricane Shade Blenko Leerdam EXCL!Description I just purchased this vintage Williamsburg Glass Reproductions hurricane shade from a local estate here in Central Virginia. The line was commissioned by Williamsburg Restoration, Inc. and introduced in 1937. Blenko Glass produced the range of handmade Colonial Williamsburg designs from 1937 until 1966 when the commission was given to Royal Leerdam. This CW-10 Hurricane Shade is the largest size in the series, originally used to grace the upstairs hall at the Govenor's Palace. The shade is beautifully executed with graceful lines to the 17 ½" tall form, measuring 6" at the rolled foot. The piece is done in a lovely Amber shade which shows rich color and excellent clarity. The shade is in excellent condition with no damage or noted wear. This striking hurricane shade would make a fine addition to any collection of vintage Colonial / Williamsburg Restoration memorabilia.Payment Payment must be received within three days following the close of the auction.
