9 color Eliot Porter lithographed prints - Glen Canyon

Nine color plates by Eliot Porter from his book The Place No One Knew: Glen Canyon on the Colorado. Published by The Sierra Club in 1965, these plates measure 10-1/4" by 13-1/4". They are enclosed in a folder with a foreword by David Bower, Executive Director of the Sierra Club. The folder is in rather shabby condition, soiled, chipped, with silverfishing on front cover. The prints were well protected, however, and are in very good condition with a touch of age-toning to the white borders and with a couple of small specks in the border of one. Nine is an odd number. Though it's not stated how many were to have been included, my guess is that the original number was 10. Maybe 12. In any event, t are 9 remaining, and they are beautiful photographs of Glen Canyon, now buried beneath massive Lake Powell behind the Glen Canyon Dam. Very scarce.
