ENCYCLOPEDIA OF THE COLORS OF THE UNITED STATES POSTAGE STAMPS 1847 - 1918 Published by the PHILATELIC RESEARCH LTD in 1981, in Germantown, MD 30 years old, but kept in immaculate condition. This 4 volume work by R. H. White has created the finest reference on the color variations of U. S. Postage ever compiled. The colors are so exact as to eliminate any doubt about any of the various shades, tints and colors of any stamps, particularly the earlier years. The colors in this resource are so exact that they can only be viewed under specific types of fluorescent lights (i.e. - GTE F15T8 DSGN) in order to obtain the true colors. The original cost of this 4 volume edition was $150.00 and produced in very limited quantities. This is still the finest resource tools available, anywhere, for identifying United States Postage Stamps from the 1847 - 1918 period.
