I purchased this great old quilt top from a local estate sale. Sashing and border are all a light yellow cotton, and the stars are made from various vintage fabrics including feedsacks and what I believe to be shirting.

I believe t has been repair to one of the red and white blocks as I see some machine stitching on the pieces. However, the rest of the top is handsewn. I neglected to offer a photo of the handstitching, but will gladly provide you with one upon request and the provision of an email address. Stitches are very consistent and even. T is a place along the border w a piece has been replaced with similar yellow fabric, but not identical as to color. Not particularly noticeable, in my opinion.

The 16 point stars measure a whopping 19" in diameter. I have laundered this top, but not pressed it. However, I can tell you that it does lie nice and flat.....stars don't look like volcanoes which is how the stars I attempt to piece always evolve. Ha! I did not picture each of the stars, only some of them to give you an idea of the color and variety.

Top is incredibly clean - I found no stains or holes. Edges of the top are frayed but could be trimmed a bit, or could use a wider binding. A truly beautiful, vintage top with so much color!
