Offered in this auction is a very early Columbia Model AK . This is the early style case and still retains its original green oak finish with great original decals. It has the original, and often missing, crank. The horn is an original, but has been repainted long ago, and the bell has numerous small dings in it as can be seen in the pictures. It has an original Columbia long throat reproducer. It has a strong running original motor and has no problem playing through a record. It even has the original paper tag on the bottom. The aluminum support arm and turntable are exact copies of the originals. The wood tonearm appears to be a handmade copy, but is very well crafted. Whoever did this carefully carved out the letters, and used old oak, and even used the original metal hinge and pivot as well as the horn support. This looks like it was done a very long time ago and does not detract from its beauty. The leather elbow is also an exact copy.I am offering this machine with a very reasonable Buy it Now, and an even more reasonable reserve. Due to its weight and size of the horn, I will be shipping it in 2 boxes to assure a safe arrival. Since I don't have it packed I can only estimate cost, but I will be careful to pack it properly, and I don't charge handling fees.
