Up for auction is a 100 year old + Columbia Type 'Q' graphophone in fabulous condition. It is a 2 minute cylinder player, and works great. The finish is clean, the nickel is bright. The governor works very well, and holds speed through an entire record. As the picture shows, the gold trim on the black base plate is in good condition; as good as most. It has its felt feet, and the horn is complete and undented. The original belt does not slip. The reproducer saphirre is still smooth and unchipped. It is fully lubricated and runs quiet. I don't think this is an original type Q horn, but this one is a little dressier and shows well. The Columbia logo plate that is normally on the end of the cylinder is absent. T are a couple of rust spots (the size of a pea) on the nickel cylinder. These are the only things I can find wrong with it. Included are two cylinders, Edison #1666 Bells, Dancing spirits (a wax cylinder) and #778 A duet: Honeybee's honeymoon by Jones & Murray ( a phenolic). They both play through, but the wax cylinder shows lots of play wear. They are in the felt holders, but the dancing spirits is missing its lid. I reserve the right to reject bids from buyers with zero or no feedback. Please pay within 6 days. Insurance is required. I will accept returns only if item received is not as described. I aim to please, so if you are not satisfied for any reason, money will be refunded when the buyer returns the phonograph (at buyers expense) undamaged to me. Feel free to write with questions, or if you want any more pictures. Item will be packed in bubble wrap in a double wall carton to insure safe delivery. Thanks for looking.
