is a great set of Columbian Exposition tickets and stamps -- all original and all over 100 years old. The World's Columbian Exposition took place from 1892-1893 in Chicago and a lot of historical memorabilia still survives, but rarely will you find this much all together. Included in this listing are 16 tickets and 16 stamps. With the tickets you get a full set of six admission tickets (Washington, Lincoln, Franklin, Columbus, Indian and the super-rare Handel) including several duplicates and triplicates. All of them, except one faded Washington, are in excellent or mint condition. Several of the tickets (one each of the Indian, Franklin, Columbus and Lincoln tickets) are of the "A" variety, which are supposedly more rare. Also with the tickets are two used "Chicago Day" tickets, a used "Manhattan Day" ticket and "Children's Special Ticket." Of these tickets, only the Children's ticket is in excellent condition; the Manhattan and Chicago tickets are of a lower quality, but fine tickets still. As for the the stamps, t are 16 in all, but only eight different varieties: 1-cent, 2-cent, 3-cent, 4-cent, 5-cent, 6-cent, 8-cent and 10-cent stamps. All have been used and have been cancelled. I'm not very familiar with stamps, so I'm not quite sure what else to say about them. They appear to be in good condition. They're not folded or torn, and appear to have retained their color and designs. Although they don't have the Columbian Exposition's name on them, they were all issued the same year as the World's Fair to celebrate Columbus' discovery of America 400 years earlier. As with the tickets above, t are duplicates and triplicates of the stamps, but all of them are pictured below. Some of the stamps are damaged on the back due to their original mailing or being glued into albums. The damages are minimal and confined only to the backs, so don't let that keep you from bidding. This is a stellar little set, and I'm positive it will sell itself, which is why I'm starting the bidding at $1 and offering free shipping. Remember: most people start their collection one piece at a time and struggle to get everything together. With this, you get an entire set all at once and they are in amazing condition. The winner will enjoy these little pieces of history and they will be well worth whatever the final bid is. Good luck to all who are interested!
