Elemental LLC Auctions Come the Munsters - Munsters "Bible" Steve Johnson About Elemental LLC Auctions Award winning special effects designer Steve Johnson was introduced to the Hollywood special effects scene after a meeting with makeup artist Rick Baker in Johnson’s hometown of Galveston, Texas. By the time he was eighteen, Johnson moved to California and cut his teeth on such productions as “TANYA’S ISLAND”, “THE FOG” and “THE HOWLING”. Later, as Baker was assembling his select team in London for the production of “AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON”, he again invited Johnson to join him. This position lead to key supervisory roles on “VIDEODROME” and “GREYSTOKE”, on which Johnson supervised the animatronic ape shoot in Africa. By the mid-eighties, Johnson was appointed head of the creature shop at Richard Edlund’s Boss Film Corporation w he oversaw productions including “GHOSTBUSTERS”, “FRIGHT NIGHT”, “POLTERGEIST 2” and “BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA”. T, Johnson was challenged with realizing cutting edge effects for major studio productions until the formation of his own company in 1986.
