Comoy's Sandblast Extraordinaire 498 Squat Bullcap Bulldog Rhodesian Pre-Cadogan Up for auction is a beautiful Comoy's Sandblast Extraordinaire 498 Squat Bullcap Bulldog Rhodesian Pre-Cadogan pipe, made in London, England. This pipe is in good used condition and has been cleaned inside and out to the best of our ability. It is from the collection of a physician who quit smoking in the early 1970s. Please look at all pictures before bidding so that you can clearly see the beauty of this pipe as well as any flaws it may have. This is a vintage example of Comoy's unmatched execution of the difficult bulldog shape. It has a rich, dark sandblasted finish with deep red highlights. It has the Extraordinaire designation given by Comoy to oversized or unusual pipes, which makes it stand out from standard Comoy pipes.The stem is wide and tapered, and the hand-scraped mouthpiece features the distinctive Comoy's slim bit.The Comoy's name appears in a sans serif font with the C larger than the other letters, which marks it as being produced after the 1940s. The pipe's stem also features the 3-part C used during the time the Comoy family owned the company, which dates it to the pre-Cadogan era.
