's a wonderful vintage set of 50 silent movie stars photo collector's cards, each 2" x 3 1/2", almost all with a facsimile of the star's autograph, blank on the reverse, no photographer or any other ID upon them, and the box is clearly readable in photo below (t is no type on the other side of it). The stars range from the iconic to the long forgotten (an unusual mix, with a number of those who never made it to any other kind of card); the set is undated, but my best guess based on the stars featured is around 1918-1920. This was the kind of item usually sold through the early film fan magazines via a small display ad somew in the back. The cards are in Good Plus condition; the box has some old tape on top flap, a few little chips, but a remarkably rare survivor just the same. Let's take a deep breath, start a fresh paragraph and get through all the names, in no particular order: Billie Rhodes, Mildred Davis, Dorothy Phillips, Evelyn Greeley,. Elinor Fair, Kathryn Adams, Lina Cavalieri, Ann Pennington, Catherine Calvert, Montague Love, Mary MacLaren, Dorothy DeVore, Dolores Cassinelli, Doris May, William Duncan, Ora Carew, Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle, Dorothy Dalton (alotta Dorothys , Josephine Hill, Will Rogers, Pauline Curley, Tom Moore, Fay Tincher, Mollie King, Virginia Hammond, Frank Keenan, Madeline Traverse, Albert Ray, Lila Lee, Texas Guinan, Marjorie Rambeau, Antonio Moreno, Elmo Lincoln, Mildred Harris Chaplin, Bert Lytell, Raymond McKee, Elaine Hammerstein, Anna Q. Nilsson, Madge Evans, Shirley Mason, Billie Rhodes, Priscilla Dean, Charly (sic for Charles or Charlie) Chaplin, Harold Lloyd, May Allison, Harry Morey, Blanche Sweet, Vivian Martin, Viola Dana, Mae Murray, Louise Glaum. Note, I didn't photograph every single card in the photos below, but only a few were left out at random. Check my other listings for more neat items relating to ealry cinema. I accept PayPal, money orders and personal checks (must clear first). Domestic postage for these cards, priority with tracking, will come to $4.50.
