Complete Collection of “The Hardy Boys” Applewood Books -Numbers 1-16 - MOSTLY FIRST PRINTINGS This sale is for a complete collection of Applewood “The Hardy Boys” books. Applewood began publishing these books in 1991. All of the books are in new condition…never been read. Per Applewood’s website, the Hardy Boys books are no longer available through Applewood. Copies are only available from secondary markets and the likelihood of finding a complete set in mostly first printing editions, in excellent condition, is highly unlikely - especially considering the fact that volumes 11 to 16 only had one print run. Applewood had plans to release volumes 17 to 19, but in 2006 they lost the rights to reprint additional titles. So far no other company has acquired the rights to reprint additional titles in the series. All books are in the original Applewood dust jacket! Three of the books actually have two dust jackets because Applewood offered dust jackets without the logo on the front panel for the first several titles (Tower Treasure, House on the Cliff, Old Mill). Included is an Applewood catalog from 1999 featuring both the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys books. These were all purchased brand new from Applewood and none are price clipped.
