Up for Auction is this Complete Set of "Christmas in America" Fenton Plates I will Try to describe each one accurately, and I apologize for the pics. This is series of plates by Fenton that began in 1970 and continued until 1981. This series depicts famous churches from around America and each has text on the reverse that describes the church. Only in amethyst. These Plates were made by hand in limited number in the finest tradition of Fenton Art Glass. The moulds for these Collector's Plate were destroyed after each year creating an every growing value for the plates with the passage of time. These specially designed plates commemorate Christmas in America and are made to note some special historical place or event of religious significance in America. ~1970- #1 "The Little Brown Church in the Vale" William S. Pitts 1885 Bradford, Iowa. This plate is in Great condition, has sticker on the back. ~1971- #2 "The Old Brick Church" Isle of Wight County, Virginia. This Plate is in good condition, just a little more Dull then the rest. ~1972- #3 "The Two Horned Church" Rufus Putnam, First Congregational Church Marietta, Ohio. This Plate is in great Condition. ~1973- #4 "St. Mary's in the Mountains" Built 1868-Burned1875-Re-Built 1876. Virginia City, Nevada. This Plate is in great condition, with sticker on the back. ~1974-#5 "The Nation's Church" Philadelphia, PA 1695 This plate is in great condition. ~1975- #6 "Birthplace of Liberty" Richmond, Virginia 1741 This plate is in great condition. ~1976- #7 "The Old North Church" Built in Boston, Mass. in 1723 This plate is in great condition, with sticker on the back. ~1977-#8 "San Carlos Borromeo de Carmelo" Carmel, California 1770 This plate is in great condition. ~1978-#9 "The Church of the Holy Trinity" Philidephia, PA 1857 This plate is in great condition, with sticker on the back. ~1979-#10 "San Jose y Miguel de Aguayo" San Antonio, Texas 1720 This Plate is in great condition. ~1980-#11 "Christ Church" Alexandria, Virginia 1773 This plate is in great condition, with sticker on the back. ~1981-#12 "San Xavier Del Bac" Tucson, Arizona 1797 This plate is in great condition, with sticker on the back. None of these plates are chipped or cracked in any way. This is a great complete set of Fenton "Christmas in America" Plates by the Fenton Art Glass Co. I will not sell these individually.
