A nice example of an early battery-driven clock, popular both with consumers in the early part of the 20th Century and clock collectors now. The Tiffany Never-wind combines the fascination of 400 Day clocks - the languid, elegant motion of the pendulum as it oscillates back and forth - with the ingenious mechanics of an early electrical movement. All parts are present, with the sole exception of the original battery clip (replaced by a three D-cell holder) - the cover for the base, the movement cover and two screws, the adjustable hook for the solid "bar-bell" pendulum and the adjustable contact pin on the suspension spring. It's the solid brass frame, not the later brass-plated steel, and the finish is in good shape. The dome is possibly original - it's fairly heavy glass, and the right height for the clock - and has the usual small chips on the edge, but is otherwise in good condition. The winner may choose to have the dome shipped in a separate box from the clock, but either way it will be packed carefully and fully insured for both the final bid and the shipping costs.Ihad it running for several months last summer then put it away - eithert's a loose wire or the batteries weren't fresh, because it isn't making the electro-magnet close on contact now, but although whatever it is isn't major, the clock is not currently running. This item is offered "as is" - I have made every effort to describe it accurately and honestly, but please ask any questions BEFORE placing your bid. The shipping weight given is for ESTIMATING the shipping costs - once it is boxed, I'll have an accurate weight and will give the winner the correct shipping costs and options.Paypal, money orders and personal checks (with a 10-day wait for clearance) accepted for this auction. If payment has NOT been received 10 days after the auction has ended, the buyer will be marked as a non-payer with very negative feedback and the item relisted. PLEASE NOTE: I DO NOT send out "Second Chance" offers - EVER . If the item doesn't sell, I will either relist it or continue to own and enjoy it!
