fine complete example of a Victorian sewing box. 12" x 8 1/4" x 4 3/4" approx Has lovely intricate mother of pearl inlays.The veneer is a nicely grained rosewood.No damage or repairs to the body work.New green felt covering to its base.Lock is original & working with its key.The keep to the lock is worn to one of its lugs ,but still locks fine.Original brass stop hinges.Under lid is a flap down compartment with locking snib covered in its original satin lining.The lift out tray is original,has 17 compartments,4 with lids covered in matching red satin.It has a paif of tiny brass lifting handles each side.The tray comes with a few interesting bits & pieces.5 crochet tools,Laddknit hook for darning stockings.Some have bone handles.A few pins & buttons.2 needle cases.A nice complete item ,in very good condition all round.
