Complex German Machine To Detect Diesel Eng. Vibration From the owner's description, this is a piece of German made machinery that was used to record on a paper roll any unwanted/unexpected vibrations in a large diesel engine, such as on board a ship. The actual device is about a 7" cube. The main body seems to be brass. Weight is almost 40 pounds. T is an internal spring wound clock works that spins a 6" steel and aluminum drum, it also powers the winding paper roll and moves a point and perhaps an ink pen. The crank handle to wind the clock-work is a nickel arm behind the paper roll. T appears to be a SN 289 on the top of the body. T is a lever in the front that would seem to control the speed, as the two plates say Langs. and Schnell, schnell meaning quick. T are also electrical connectors on the top for telemetry from sensor devices I presume. Included are a large extra paper roll, some used rolls, a jar of red ink for the stylus and the key to the wood case, which measures approximately 11 1/2" by 10" and 10" tall. Winner pays only the actual packing, insurance and shipping costs. I do not know if the device is complete or functioning. The paper rolling and flywheel turning do seem to work off the winding mechanism. More Than 1900 Happy & Successful Transactions...
