GIACOMO PUCCINI (1858-1924). Italian composer of opera, including "La Boheme", "Madame Butterfly", "Turandot", etc. ALS, "Giacomo", 1p.4to, August 24/25, 1921. Written on the verso of a blank telegram form. With stamped envelope addressed to Rose Ader at Hamburg. He had met Rose when she sang the role of Mimi in his opera "La Boheme" in Rome, earlier that year. They had fallen desperately in love. He tells her that he is writing at 1 AM to report that he has received her telegram but, as he is leaving the next day, his present letter will be his last as she would have already left for Viareggio. He will see her t on September 2 at 11 in the morning. If possible he will try to go to her on September 1 after dinner, but he is not sure that he will be able to do so.
