Comprising: 1) A handwritten original ledger for the American Express Co. office located in Minonk, Illinois, dated from October 1876 to May 1877. The American Express Co. was formed in 1850 with the merging of Wells Fargo & Co. and Butterfield, Wasson & Company; Wells was the first president, Fargo was the secretary and Butterfield was the line superintendent. Ledger book dated 1876 and is almost full of entries from Illinois, Wisconsin, New York, Kansas, Ohio and other states. 2) Original Wells Fargo Register of Way-bills forwarded dated 1880. Most entries for California. About half filled with entries, the remainder blank pages. Cloth cover with oilcloth spine. 3) Original Wells Farge & Co. Express Statement Book dated 189_. Blank pages, never used. Black & white marbleized cover. 4) Wells Fargo Messenger Publication dated 1914. The company`s public relations magazine, containing articles on history of Wells Fargo and related subjects. Color illustrated cover and photographs of Wells Fargo related people and places. 5) San Francisco 1915 Wells Fargo guidebook for the Pan-American Exposition. Contains a color fold-out map of the Exposition and thumbnail tourist travel notes on the city of San Francisco. 6) Five blank original Wells Fargo way-bill tags. 7)Five assorted antique cancelled Wells Fargo envelopes. 700 - 900
