Not familiar with this factory " MEITO CHINA " and the base is marked " FOREIGN" HAND PAINTED " but believe it is from around 1900 and a rare survivor as it is in exceptional condition. This is a real gem with all it's gilding in place and it resided behind closed china cabinet doors all it's life. To BE SEEN AND NOT USED WAS THE OPINION. This even comes with it's own little spoon measuring just over 2 1 / 4". The material ??? is interesting anyone wants to ask me to test to identify material somehow just email... The small tray has been shaped in 1 large centre area and 1 smaller on each side and measures approximately 7 1 / 2 " in diameter from exterior. of gilded handle to exterior of gilded handle. The width at the widest point in the middle is approximately 2 1 / 4 ". Please note the lovely little thumb rest points which have been placed for ease of passing. The tray rim has been decorated in a brilliant blue (as have the other pieces for consistency of design). The salt and peppers stand approximately 2 1 / 4 " high and have as can be seen in the photographs magnificient gilt detail on the face. This is rasied gilt design everyw but not at the fine blue line. The small mustard pot stands 1 1 / 2" to the rim and 2 1 / 2 " to the top of the finial when the lid is in place. Again this brilliant raised gilt design has been place on the face. EXCEPTIONAL PIECE , EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION NOTHING WE CAN FIND TO FAULT. Combined with these items will be selection of what one expect to find in a multi generation home which is being closed. Combining shipping reduces overall costs.
