Up for auction is an old original photo from the Conestoga Traction Company. The photo is of CT Co. cars #53 and #68 meeting on the Manheim Junction to Lititz line at the station at Neffsville, PA in August 1938. See the second picture, which is located just to the right of the first small photo under the word “Zoom”, for details on the reverse side of the photo. It measures 3 1/2” x 4 7/8” and is in excellent condition. The Conestoga Traction was a Pennsylvania trolley / interurban / traction line in existence from 1899 to 1945, was 164 miles in length at its peak, and served Crystal Springs Park, Rocky Springs Park, and Chickie’s Park. It also served the towns of Lancaster, Gap, Mt. Joy, Coatesville, Strasburg, Quarryville, Pequea, Columbia, Marietta, Elizabethtown, Manheim, Lititz, Ephrata, Adamstown, Terre Hill, Salunga, Rheems, Parkesburg, Lampeter, Groffdale, Reamstown, Martinsville, Neffsville, Mechanicsburg, New Holland, Vintage, Leaman Place, Maple Grove, Rocky Springs, Eden, Millersville, Leola, Talmage, PA and many others.
