Two Civil War documents - The first is signed by George Wythe Randolph, grandson of Thomas Jefferson, and Secretary of War of the Confederacy. The lower left corner has the initials "GTB," possibly G. T. Beauregard. The document is dated Ajpril 2, 1862, in Richmond, VA. It is an appointment for Capt. Belton Mickle to the rank of Quartermaster to report to General Bragg. Mickle joined the 20th Mississippi infantry. Randolph served as Secretary of War for a short time and left few documents. He resigned over a dispute with Jefferson Davis. Randolph is buried at Monticello next to Thomas Jefferson. The second document is an order attributed to General Beauregard (but not signed by him) to burn cotton, signed by Capt. Ed E. Porter, dated June 5, 1862 in Holly Springs, Miss.
