This is a nice CDV, 2 7/16 by 4 inches, of the Confederate cavalry Major and Captain Harry Gilmor of Maryland standing in full uniform with his sword. The photographer is The Monumental Photograph Company No. 178 W. Baltimore St. BALTIMORE MD. This CDV is from an intact, straight from the attic, album that was assembled by a member of Governor Wise of Virginia's family. The album page has "Capt. Harry Gilmour M (d?). It is in good condition with no marks or damage. This is an original period image, but like many of these celebrity images it was made from another photo. This is a good period copy of a very nice photo, but it is poorly crafted, with part of the original photo's border visible and the photo glued on the mount crooked. The face of the original album page will be included in the auction if desired. I will be posting many other Confederate images in the next several days. Please check my other auctions.
