This is a Confederate Oath of Allegiance from the State of Alabama (Montgomery County) for James F. White. Mr. White signed his oath on November 7, 1862 and it was sworn before A.J. Walker, C.J. It is interesting to note that Judge Abram Joseph Walker was the Chief Justice of the Albama Supreme Court from 1859-1868, so Mr. White must have been interested in obtaining a position with the state government. A clean, quality document with both Confederate and Alabama significance. Document was tri-folded as was practice for document storage of that period. No repairs - please see images. Only light discoloration along fold line, mentioned only for accuracy - does not at all distract from document. Complete document size is approximately 9 1/2 by 7 1/2 inches. Purchsed personally by me from The Horse Soldier in Gettysburg, PA - so authenticity is guaranteed. Paypal is preferred but not required. Please add $5.00 for insured shipping by US Priority Mail. Sorry, no shipping outside of the United States. Please feel fee to email with any questions or for additional images of the item. This is a one of a kind item. The document you see is the one that you will receive. Thank you for looking and GOOD LUCK!
