This is a Nice, Vintage 3/4" Brass Tube Target Rifle Scope . It is of the style that was used from the early 1860's to the 1940's and would be very much at home on the Confederate Whitworth Sniper Rifle ( Enfield or Volunteer rifle musket) sharpshooter , as well as your later era favorite Vintage Target Rifle . I don't know how old it is as it's not maker marked or dated but it's in such nice condition it was most likely made in the 1900s . As far as I can tell, magnification is 3x Power with clear optics, fine crosshair reticule , no chips or cracks on the lenses, no dents on the tube and at least 80% of it's original black Finish. (I tried to take a picture of the reticule but it didn't come out very well!) I don't think you could do any better than to mount this on an Original Whitworth or a Parker Hale reproduction Whitworth as the focus adjustments are identical, it is a 3/4 inch brass tube, 15 1/2" long with blackened finish and is totally unmarked. Great copies of the Original Davidson Scope Mounts and Bases are available from Bear Claw's Trading Post on the Internet. Combined with this scope you would have an unbeatable combination for original appearance and functionality. Bear Claw's will even install mounts and bases on your rifle for an extra charge.
