Conn "stencil" Jazz-Era Trumpet - small diameter bell.

This is a vintage small-bell trumpet, from the Jazz era. It is only marked "made in USA." But, the style of the engraving, braces, and general construction, indicate that it was made by Conn, as a stencil horn for some music company. It is unusual in two ways - the bell is only 4 1/8" in diameter. And, the only moving slide is the main tuning slide. The three valve crooks are soldered in place, and do not come out. Obviously, this was a cost-saving decision. This horn is nearly identical to similar Conn professional horns from this era, but was possibly made as a lower-cost student horn.
The original silver-plating is 95% intact, with only a few wear-spots w the brass shows through. The horn has been chemically cleaned, major dents removed or reduced, and lightly polished. It has not been detail-polished. Any necessary corks, felts, and springs have been replaced. The valves have good compression, and the horn plays very well. It would be a great instrument to use in a "period" jazz or concert band. Although this horn has been completely serviced, and is in good playing condition, it is being sold AS-IS, since it is not new. Please see my Ebay feedback. This horn is available as an INSTANT PURCHASE item only, with payment to be made via PayPal, upon purchase. I only accept PayPal for payment. Shipping is free to U.S. buyers. Canadian and overseas buyers agree to pay an additional shipping fee of US$75.00. This item will be shipped within 2 business days of purchase. Please email before purchase, with any questions.
