6 Coasters, each 3 1/8" in diameter x 1/4" thick, plus a carved container to hold them. Genuine Irish Connemara Marble by Gerard. Brand new, imported from Ireland. No two coasters are alike and each has felt on the base to prevent scratching the surfaces beneath. The container is almost 3" tall x 3 7/8" in diameter and has a felt base as well. A superb gift, even if you are not Irish, because this marble is extraordinary in its beauty! No picture can ever do it justice. Hand Carved and hand polished, this marble is quarried in County Galway, in the 12 Bens, a mountain region of the Connemara. The marble is MILLIONS of years old [estimated about 900 MILLION years old!].....giving a whole new meaning to its being 'as old as the hills'! [A feeble attempt at humour]. Remember, part of the unique qualities of this marble is that no two can ever be identical, tfore variations will occur in the color and 'marbling', meaning the picture is only a typical example of the item, The one you see in the picture IS the one you will get, but if you order more than one, the others will all be slightly different in color.
