Connie Mack Signed Original Artwork "Raitt Collection". From his college days in the early 1930's to the turn of the century, autograph collector John Raitt drew sketches of famous people which he would mail to them, ask them for their autograph and they would return to him for his collection. In more than 70 years he put together a very impressive collection including movie and television actors, politicians, singers, military, government (domestic and foreign) and sports figures, mostly baseball players including many Hall of Famers. There are at least 1,600 signed sketches, and Heritage Auction Galleries is proud to present hundreds of these piece, which we will feature in a number of different sales. Offered here is a 5.5x8.5" sketch featuring Connie Mack, signed in 9/10 black ink. This piece exhibits the typical pair of horizontal mail folds, a small tip missing from the top left corner and some light wear. Auction LOA from JSA.
