CONNOISSEUR N.Y.C. CALABASH SHAPED STRAIGHT GRAIN ESTATE PIPE NICE 10 DAY AUCTION NO RESERVE -- I'm auctioning this nice and lightly smoked Connoisseur N.Y.C. calabash straight grain pipe from my collection. As you may know, artist-engineer-designer Ed Burak retired and closed the iconic Connoisseur pipe shop in 2009. Consequently, there are no Connoisseur pipes being made today. Here's an opportunity to obtain a rare and nice example--the straight grain on this pipe is AMAZING! The pipe is in very nice to excellent condition and features its original black vulcanite mouthpiece. I could fill paragraphs about the pipe but allow the pictures to provide the poetry. The pipe measures approximately 5 1/2 inches long (bent), 2 3/16 inches tall at the bowl, 1 11/16 inches bowl outer diameter at top, 1 inch tobacco chamber diameter and the chamber is approximately 1 3/4 inches in depth. Nomenclature is clear and distinct, reading on near side of shank: Connoisseur over N.Y.C.. The black vulcanite mouthpiece is original and is free from chatter.
