This auction is for Vintage Art Pottery Pair of Cherub Candle Holders from Japan and a Dish to make this Console Set complete. Large single flower like candle cups supported on curving ribbons, each with a cherub figure on the front. The gold and Violets set thiis set off. Cherub figures are lightly painted and are are positioned with one arm extended and are mirror images of each other. Holders measure 3-1/1" across at base x 6" high. One of the candle holders have the Japan label. The Bowl has a Royal Sealy foil label and measues 9" across. I do not find any significant cracks, chips. Maybe a few nicks but nothing that show its age. This was my Mother in Laws. I have never seen it sitting out so makes me believe was never used. These are really from the 50-60's era. I remember alot of pottery that was made back when I was young. Paint and gold trim appear to be all intact. A bit of dust in inner recesses, but no signs of actual use. Light crazing is beginning to form, not serious. I am not an expert on this item but describe to the best of my ability. Will weigh around maybe 3 lbs when packed well and will ship from 77396. Please look at pictures. The buyer will pay actual shipping charges that will be calculated after the auction ends. I have found because of the distance and weight, the shipping varies a great deal sometimes. Plus a small handling fee. Please know that I work a full time job and I may not answer emails right away.
