DESCRIPTION: Very Large, 19th Century, Antique German Conta Boehme Victorian Porcelain Dresser or Trinket Box. This huge cabinet box was probably used to hold larger things. Some of these boxes were used as tobacco humidors or even tea boxes. This is one of the older boxes and it this has an elegant feeling to it with all the decorations. Not listed in either of the Vogel's books. It's marked under the lid with 2906 and a size number of Roman Numeral 2. On the the bottom of the base t is a gold J and number 4. It measures 6 inches long, 6 inches tall and 3 inches wide. T is a mirror attached to this box. I am currently selling a large part of my collection because we are retiring and moving to a smaller home. Please ask questions because I am not an expert on antiques, but I do try to describe things the best I can. Please see my other Victorian figurines and trinket boxes that are listed this week. Please respond to my invoice with payment method in 3 days! CONDITION: Very Good Condition. For an item that's over 140 years old this box is in really good condition. T is one small chip on back lip of the top. One of the drawer handles is broken off the front of the base. The gold gilding and some of the paint has rubbed off with age. This really does show well.
