Continental Armoire with Border of Ceramic Tile c. late 1800's

An attractive Continental armoire with an interesting addition of a border of ceramic tiles along the top. The tiles have a design of green swags with pink flowers held by blue ribbons. Considering this is an extremely heavy piece, possibly oak, the delicate tiles give it a softer more feminine appearance. When I purchased the piece, there were lace panels covering the glass on the inside of the doors. The interior may have been altered by adding the shelf with the drawers, plus two other shelves. Above the top shelf there are still two rods for hanging clothes. There's a drawer on the bottom. The varnish has been removed so it's just natural wood at this point in time, but there's some remaining blue paint that shows on the lower right side (pictured), so it may have been painted originally. The armoire is in very good condition, but not perfect. 80"h x 48"w x 21"d
